Q: I am interested in a VA loan, up to the amount that they guaranty, I think about $50,000. I am not presently working, but I have a guarantor. Do you think I would have a hard time getting such a loan?

Q: I wanted to know exactly how long does it take to get a VA mortgage loan approval? I and my fiancé submitted a loan application almost a month ago and the loan officer claims he still hasn't heard anything from the mortgage company. We submitted all the necessary paperwork asked of us for a VA loan, so should we still be waiting on an answer at this point? Also we paid $2000 in earnest money and were told we could get that money back if we were not approved or done everything we could do to obtain the loan.

Q: I was denied a VA loan because the loan officer said VA required me to be on my job for at least two years and this was the only reason. It sounds strange to me being the sales agent and the loan officer both knew from Day One I recently started my job. The two of them have been telling me all this time everything looked fine, that I would be approved. I feel that the denial was discrimination. The sales counselor had written letters congratulating me on my new purchase. I really want to know does VA make this decision or is this company giving us the runaround? I am so disappointed that I was denied especially being this late. Can I still apply for other mortgages?

Q: “I have just finished my term in Iraq and my husband and I have saved a little money and think it is time to buy our first home. However, we are very confused by the different answers we are receiving from lenders in our area. We want to make an offer for $500,000 on a home that previously was worth over $750,000. Will we need a down payment?”
