Mortgage Banker, Broker or Direct Lender

Q: What’s the difference between mortgage brokers and the loan officers at The Mortgage House?

Q: I am a first time home buyer. My fiancé has a friend who is a broker and I was wondering if we should use a broker or a direct lender. I know that a broker has certain fees that I believe will be incorporated in the loan process, but I'm not sure what they are. Can you explain to me what they are and if there is something I should look out for when choosing to use a broker to search for my loan?

Q: I'm looking thru the "The Real Estate Book" and I see lender after lender after lender. Will there really be a significant difference in interest rates when dealing with one lender or another? I'm getting ready to apply for a loan and I was previously approved with a firm over 3 months ago and I'm ready to take action again but want to try and compare at least 3 different lenders. I like your company because you do in-house funding. Another question I have: I have been with the company I am with now for almost 4 years and am seriously considering switching jobs (insurance to insurance) within the next month or two. Will this hurt my loan application? Thank you!
